ITEM OVERVIEW
For the third installment of the Live at the complex series, the artists of Entartete Kunst deliver more "No Field" electronica. Many of the songs on this disc lean toward abstract hip hop, since they feature slow tempo beats. However, whereas most trip hop soothes the listener with vocals and atmospheric effects, these songs tend to unsettle the listener. Bitter Pie's "in between bricks" sounds like a horror movie, with strings that build suspense. Not all are slow, though Ptingla explores drum 'n' bass, and Screamo Leemo delves into trance territory with "lone spurts." My favorite song title is by dj slo-mo, "neo liberalism is a hate crime." It has slow beats with samples advocating sabotage of the system. This, like all the Entartete Kunst (degenerate art) releases, is limited in quantity.
