ITEM OVERVIEW
Strike While It's Hot is a collection of the political graphics Josh MacPhee has produced over the past 10 years. Used on T-shirts, reproduced in zines, featured on book covers, and pasted on walls, these images have traveled around the world and back. And now these cards are certain to travel even further as postcards ready to mail.
Strike While it's Hot contains images to visually confront environmental destruction, racism, prisons and war, while lending support to international solidarity, the power of labor, and expressing the basic human dignity of all people.
"It is no longer enough today to lock ourselves in our studios and produce culture. We must engage in our world in as many ways as possible." —from Realizing the Impossible Josh MacPhee is a Brooklyn based street artist, designer, curator, and activist. A street stenciler and poster maker for over a decade, he also runs a radical art distribution project, justseeds.org, as a way to develop and distribute t-shirts, posters, and stickers with revolutionary content. He organizes the Celebrate People's History Poster Project, an ongoing poster series in which different artists create posters to document and remember moments in radical history. He is the author/editor of Stencil Pirates (Soft Skull), Realizing the Impossible (AK Press) and Reproduce and Revolt! (Soft Skull).
